12 Days of Christmas #5 – Bayleaf Mama, Rafaela Gass
Rafaela Gass joined the NEW-WBC looking for a real and effective source of guidance and information on how to start her cottage food business. She had been working for few weeks in a farmers’ market when she first saw her opportunity to transform her passion and skills for baking into a possible business, but, at the time, she didn’t know where to begin.
That same month, Rafael started her classes from our Cottage Food series. She completed the process for registering her business and got the licenses she needed to start operations as a Cottage Food Vendor. Rafaela told us, “If it wasn’t for the WBC and all the guidance of the cottage food program, I would probably still be going around in circles without getting any results”.
This is precisely one of the main areas of focus for all our training programs, to provide not only information, but guidance on the process of creating your own business, with your ideas and your vision. We provide the necessary support and training so you can really feel the certainty you need to launch your business and succeed. After starting out as a vendor, Rafaela kept training and pursuing her dream of growing her business. In September 2022, Rafaela applied through our office to the CA Dream Fund Grant and received it 8 weeks later. With this increment in her cash flow, she is preparing to launch a new marketing campaign and make her dream of expanding her business a reality.
